Watch What I Can Do
I was seeing these cool watches with really lame bands. Well, anyone that knows me knows I only want to be associated with cool, hip bands even if I have to make them myself. I realize, of course, the terms "cool" and "hip" are quite subjective like pretty much all art, and after spending a couple of years trying to write songs for the Nashville music machine, I've learned one thing: Not only can you NOT please everyone all the time, you can NOT hardly please anyone, EVER! And if you try to take notes, take a pole, or take a vote about what you should be creating, then apply this "wisdom" to your next "piece", THEN they hate that too!?!? Well, then what? Well what I learned was: To do what you do, and let them that like it, enjoy, and them that don't, leave. It's hard enough to understand yourself as an artist in any medium without trying to please anyone but yourself. So after learning this valuable lesson that earned me millions as a hit songwriter (I wished that part was true) I will now apply it to the truly important art form of watch band making and hopefully I will be even more successful at it. But whether I is or I ain't, I will do what I do and hope there are others out there who will enjoy it as well.
